This unique property has a style all of its own and your hosts Annie and Al are motorcyclists who not only enjoy riding themselves, but LOVE welcoming fellow motorcyclists to their exceptional property which offers 2 luxurious courtyard rooms.

Located on Rapaura Road, right in the heart of the wine region, next to Nautilus Winery and across the road from Wairau River Winery, you will want to make this place a destination for a couple of days. From here, you can do day rides out through the Queen Charlotte Sounds over to Havelock and of course it is only a 30km ride to Picton; so a perfect place to stay whether you are heading to or from the ferries and want to spend some relaxing time visiting the local vineyards and restaurants or having day rides.

Annie and Al have beautifully and artistically converted El Grouso from a Cellar Door; into their own home and created these two stunning courtyard rooms. Part of this unique design is the ‘Shower Room’ and ‘Vanity and Toilet’, which is shared between the two room. Access to these spaces is all undercover and motion light activated.

A fridge, nespresso machine, an electric jug, coffee pods, and a selection of tea are all provided, along with a few snacks, to start your stay with us. The courtyard is private and a great way to relax and reflect on your day’s riding while planning your next day. On arrival, you will enjoy complimentary wine and light snacks.

Guest access
Once you park your motorcycle or car Annie and Al will take you to your rooms through the courtyard and this will be your access during your stay. You can be assured that your motorcycles and vehicles are very safe with off-road parking.

There are some lovely places close by for meals, Wairau River Winery, Fancy Cow, and The Vines Village or a little further towards town is Kaiaka Cafe, which is outstanding, located at Westward. Renwick (close by) offers a supermarket, a cafe, a dairy, takeaways, and two pubs, both of which serve meals.

MEET YOUR HOSTS

Annie and Al

Annie and Al are both motorcycle enthuastists with Annie being involved with the Harley Davidson franchise and family for over two decades, so like their treasured motorcycles, Annie and Al both have an eye for detail which is clearly demonstrated in the thought given and design of this unique motorcycle friendly accommodation. Between riding and hosting, they are hands on, running this operating vineyard. Annie also works at a local vineyard, Spy Valley and she is more than happy to offer you a wine-tasting at Spy Valley.

Originally from the North Island, they now have their roots firmly embedded in Marlborough and they can offer advice and recommendations on great places to ride, visit and eat around this special area of the South Island.
