The House is part of the Riders' Rest complex in Ruakākā, located right next door to The Lodge, The Nest, The Cabin and The Studio so for larger groups looking for motorcycle friendly accommodation in the heart of Northland, we can accommodate large groups.

The House offers 3 large bedrooms, each with ensuites, and the 4th bedroom has a single bed. Each of the bedrooms, including the smaller single room has extensive views of Bream Bay and across the Whangarei harbour. There is a large open planned lounge, dining room and kitchen with an extensive back yard where you can fire up the barbeque or the pizza oven.

Its locality makes it ideal for guests to use The House as a base when riding around the north, whether it is to the top - Cape Reinga or for day rides where you can do loop rides to visit either coasts or to the Bay of Islands and return home to relax at this quiet location.

Only 1.5 kms from the Ruakākā township and 12 kms from Waipu and 30 minutes from Whangarei, this location is surrounded by great cafes; restaurants and pubs.  To save you putting your riding gear back on to go out for dinner (if you don’t want to cook yourselves); your hosts will drop you off to one of the local eateries.   

If you are travelling as a solo rider or couple and don’t want to share it with others, speak with your hosts as they can look at booking out just one of the rooms, but you still have access to the rest of the space.

Rate: $120 per person or $150 per couple | 10% Discount for IMOC and BMWMC members.

MEET YOUR HOSTS: Carolyn & Kel

Kel and Carolyn are motorcycle enthusiasts with extensive experience riding throughout New Zealand, Asia, Canada and Alaska, India and Himalayas and throughout Europe. 

They established MCAANZ to provide an affordable option for motorcyclists to travel around Aotearoa NZ, staying at places which have been recommended by fellow motorcyclists and offered by motorcyclists or motorcycle friendly hosts. 

Their touring experiences have led them to organise tours for friends to Europe, so during your stay, feel free to find out more about their tours. They love sharing their piece of paradise in Northland with like-minded people as well as non-motorcyclists.
