Southern Cross Lodge is a perfect choice for motorcyclists, families, travellers on a budget and groups when looking for accommodation in Methven. The Lodge offers a total of 49 rooms including Studio Rooms (twin or super king), Lodge Rooms (twin or super king) and Lodge Family Rooms (super king with bunks).

All their rooms feature an ensuite, TV, a heater and receive daily service checks. When you stay with Southern Cross Lodge you will receive a continental breakfast which is included in your room rate. If you are after a cooked breakfast, they have some great recommendations for you to try out in the centre of Methven. Bale Restaurant opens on site daily at 4pm.

Please enquire if you are travelling as a motorcyclist group and require meals. Their evening meals are of a good hearty New Zealand fare, two course buffet style. We can of course cater for any special dietary requirements with these meals as well.

You will stay connected and share those stunning photographs of your ride with high-speed Wi-Fi and there are conveniently placed power outlets to be prepared for your next day.

Guests are welcome to enjoy the stunning mountain views from the comfort of the deck, equipped with lounge furniture and outdoor tables and chairs.

Your hosts will serve you a delicious deluxe continental breakfast on weekdays which goes beyond the usual cereal and includes bakery fresh bread, fresh fruit, homemade muffins, homemade jams and local honey, as well as a selection of savoury items. A full cooked breakfast is included on weekends, serving up, in the words of one guest “all things delicious”!

Located 2 km from the Hanmer Springs village centre, your hosts will happily run their guests up into the village for dinner and pick them up afterwards (within reason 🙂).

There is plenty of private, off-street parking (located down a right of way, well off the main road), and for those that may want an extra feeling of security, garage space can be made available with advance booking.
